Safe shopping
A few simple tips to buy and sell cars safely.
- Meet in person — Meet in a busy public place, inspect the car in daylight and take a test drive — ideally with a mechanic.
- Check the documents — Match the RC (chassis and engine number) with the car, and check insurance, PUC, service history, loan status (Form 35) and NOC for other-state cars.
- Never pay a token amount before seeing the car — Don’t pay any advance or “booking amount” online. Be wary of prices far below the market and sellers who are “posted elsewhere”.
- Report abuse — See a suspicious listing? Report it — our moderation team acts quickly.
